What the Council fail to tell Residents about this local plan, is that they seem to claim that they have to implement this Local Plan for building houses in Greenfield areas for THE GOOD of THE TOWN.
This is the Top Line from the Governments Website - "Councils must produce local plans for new homes in their area by 2017 – or the government will ensure, in consultation with local people, those plans are produced for them.".
What this means is the Council will have spent £2million on a Plan to try and build Expensive Executive Houses NOT Sustainable Social Houses.
If the Council had SAVED £2million not created a plan then the Government in consultation with the local people who know what the town needs could have produced a plan.
WE THE RESIDENTS WOULD HAVE HELPED THE GOVERNMENT, write the Local Plan 2016, advised them the best places on Brownfield sites for Social Housing DONE IT FOR FREE for the benefit of the town.
BUT WHAT THE COUNCIL PLAN TO DO IS TO TRY AND RAISE £10million+ to prop up their bad financial decisions.
While 82% of councils have published local plans – which should set out how many homes they plan to deliver over a set period – only 65% have fully adopted them, and there are still almost 20% of councils that do not have an up to date plan at all.
