Accident - A646 Glen View Rd / New Road Junction 18th August 2017

Another serious accident on the A646 - yards from the proposed entrance to a New Housing Estate.

A blind bend at one end of the road - a blind brow of a hill at the other end the stretch of road.

Burnley Council passed the Local Plan to create an entrance to this Proposed New Housing Estate on this dangerous fast road,

Hollins Cross Farm Mallards and Moor Hens Summer 2017

A quote from the Local Plan created by Burnley Council

2.7.2 The borough's open landscapes are one of its greatest
assets.

They provide a visually striking setting for the urban area, a
recreational resource and a
‘green lung’ in close proximity to
the built-up area.

Burnley's distinct landscape character types each face their
own set of challenges, including pressure from development, recreational
activities and climate change.

Agriculture and forestry activities can present
challenges, but these industries also play a valuable role in protecting the
landscape as we value it today.

This is
complete contravention to wanting to build 400-500 new houses and large
Industrial site on the Hillsides of Hollins Cross Farm, Rossendale Road  and Shuttleworth Mead - “The Green Lung” of
the Borough was all part of the Greener environment promised by the Council in
the 2006 Local Plan and restated in the 2016 Local Plan.

Hollins Cross Farm 18/03/17 - Flood waters

Burnley Council intend on March 20th to vote YES to allocation of this land for Building 188 new houses on

All residents facts, images, videos of the vast amount of water that cascade down this hillside are completely unimportant.

The Leader of Burnley Coucil Mark Townsend and his Executive had no intention of showing any interest in Residents Facts - because the Residents in this area DO NOT VOTE LABOUR so who cares.

Well the residents will be heard and we will take legal proceedings against all who cause damage to out town and surrounding properties.

Vote YES and you are on our list - Beware

Hollins Cross Farm Flooding 23 02 17 10:00am

Burnley Council's obstinate attitude to still believing Hollins Cross Farm is a sensible place to build 188 deluxe high quality houses on is still ongoing. The council has refused to remove this site from its Local Plan 2016 despite all the Facts presented to it.

The Surface and oversaturation water flowing out of the fields of Hollins Cross Farm has only just now reduced but still flows down the A646 New Road.

Just imagine when we get a real Torrential Downpour - lets see how Towneley School and Park survive then and the river flows onward into the town center.

Burnley could end up like York if stupid people like our Councillors think building houses on hillsides is a smart move.

Burnley Council release - Local Plan 2016 - 09/03/2017

Burnley Council release the latest incarnation of the Local Plan.
A badly crafted re-write of the initial botched document that has not taken in to consideration any Residents factual information or concerns, they have not acknowledged any factual information in the latest draft of this document or understood the gravity of their actions in continuing to include hillside developments and the reality of future flooding of both Padiham and Burnley Centers.
In a nutshell all this consultation and working with the residents claptrap is a complete smokescreen by Burnley Councils Leader and his Minions the "Executive" to hide their true intentions.
In the eyes of "The Polite Bureau" you as Residents are just superfluous to their plan, they just have to be shown to be adhering to procedure and policy, taking notice of what you have to say is not what these people are about.
The New Plan contains nothing in it that will help people moving into all these "New Homes"
1) No new local primary schools planned
2) No Doctor or Dentist places available
3) No new A&E at Burnley General for the 1000 new residents / year
4) No extra parking in the town for 400+ more cars / year.
5) More Pollution from more traffic having to drive children to out of town schools
6) Construction site traffic disruptions all over Burnley for 16 years
 7) Dangers to children walking to school from large vehicles
8) More localized flooding from surface water draining from hillside developments
9) More mining subsidence from building on unsuitable sites
10) Long publicised drawn out legal battles over site suitability.
All these 10 points are detrimental to attracting people to come to Burnley - The Council Leaders have not got the best interests of the town in mind they are just trying to set up the town to fail and make out it is Central Government policies that has cause the demise of the Town.

Burnley Council have now created a stall in the housing market in the town and a housing blight will ensue,  in areas of the town where development is now sanctioned the present housing stock will slow down in occupancy transition.

Younger people will not move up to bigger houses, older people will not be able to downsize and first time buyers will not invest. The reasons why are -  when solicitor searches are done it will show how the development of properties in most areas are staggered over 5-7 year periods, this creates uncertainty for buyers of existing properties.

Burnley Council Propose - New Housing Estate

The day after Storm Doris

Water still pouring out of the hills - absolutely saturated.

Image may contain: tree, sky, plant, grass, outdoor and nature

This is prime development land a place for Developers to build New Luxury High End Executive 3/4/5 Bedroom Houses - according to Burnley Council Leaders.

The Council Leader and Executive have blatently ignored all evidence of Abandoned Shallow Coal Mines, Flood Risks, Environmental Issues of wildlife and Protected species of Bats, Mallards, Wetland Birds, Deer  and Flora and Forna.

This is an US and THEM battle in which the Labour Run Council Headed by Mark Townsend and his entourage are not going to back down for fear of "Loosing Face" and have continued to spend excessive  amounts of Local Taxpayers Money - over £2million to be precise. They will go down with the sinking ship rather than be seen to work with the Residents or to admit they got it wrong.

The Stupidity of all this is that building was abandoned on this land some 40 years ago by William Leech of Newcastle because the properties at the end of Wilkie Avenue SANK.

The surrounding hills including the Hollins Cross Farm Site collectivally absorb 256,000 Gallons of water per 1mm that falls on Crown Point and Hollins Cross.

Originally these hills were the catchment area for a very large reservoir known locally as “Rock Lane / Bottom / Woodplumpton” reservoir. All streams, flushes, ditches  and riverletts are now redirected into man made drainage channels.

.
The reservoir was drained just after the A646 ( New Road ) was built and so the bottom half of the fields now bordering the A646 have had to have a number of Concrete Culverts built under the A646 to allow the streams, watercourses in the fields to drain into the original reservoir in-flow rivers.

Disturbance of the land in the Hollins Cross Farm site will mean when the land surface is removed and there will not be an absorption layer to slow down the water,  it will then flow as surface water and create torrents of water that cannot be handle by current streams and drainage channels.
WaterCourses on Hollins Cross Farm

These water torrents will flow out of the proposed entrance to the Hollins Cross Farm site in unstoppable volumes not as now as a constant flow.

Local Plan 2016 - to build 1000's of un-necessary Houses on Greenfield Land

Local Plan 2016

Burnley Council Continue to Keep the Public in the Dark

So here it is,  the Council have now announced they are going to start discussing the Local Plan 2016 - there is a meeting for the Council Executive "The Famous Five" on March 16th - we are not sure what  they have  to discuss as they have all been "Ordered to Obey and recommend it".

There is then another meeting on March 20th where the rest of Labour Councillors have been TOLD to accept the decision of the Executive, so again another enforced landslide vote by the "Totalitarian Regime".

We are still fighting against this regime who have  quoted "allegedly" - "We will not be bullied by a bunch of Residents up their who will never vote for us and who we do not give a shit about" - this alleged quote was mean for all Residents of Hollins Cross Farm, Rossendale Road and Worsthorne.

Releasing the Local Plan 2016 at this time is very carefully planned by "The Regime" as it means that the Council will not be upsetting Labour voting areas till after the Local Elections at the beginning of May. SO they get another year of imposing their crazy financial schemes on the Residents of Burnley.

Key Local Plan to be discussed in March
The latest version of the new Burnley Local Plan - which sets out where potentially thousands of new homes and industrial units will be built across the borough - is being finalised.
